T-23

Breakfast. Leftover sausage and leftover veggies. I didn't finish the veggies.
Wow the rice smelled good! I guess the burrito tortillas too! Double side of steak and guac with a large unsweetened tea.
Mondvol meal. I should have bought a couple more of these before I told people they tasted good. I think I like the chopped cauliflower more than the pureed.
Mandie has saved me after a long day and cooked the flank steak I was marinating!
Seconds with some fat.
The sickness that was creeping on Saturday is hitting in a little more full force. Congested. SUCKS!

T-24

Breakfast. Starving. 3 eggs, 3 MHF sausages
Glenn's food smelled really good so had to hit up a Mondvol meal at the box. Not sure what was in the greens but very odd/different for my palate.
Some pecan snacks.
Another Mondvol Meal. Wasn't in the mood for the slaw so didn't eat it but the crab cakes were good.
Chicken breast strips and mixed veggies.

Cravings are starting to kick in. Chocolate would be great. Donuts even better. We'll see how tomorrow goes. Finished off with some almonds, all pecaned out.

T-25

Weighed in today 165lbs so in five days I'm down 4.5 lbs. Also tested my pullups and HSPUs. SHould have done them when I was 5 lbs heavier but whatever. 16/14 Unplanned intermittent fasting ate about 2pm. Another gyros salad. It's my close to home stand by.

Passed out for a couple of hours and not feeling well. Ate beef with left over salad and was going to get my self out and about to the halloween party but just couldn't do it. Got to unpack my luggage and cut all the tags off my new Reebok gear. I know exciting night.

Also got to clean about 100 messages from my email. I know what a fun Saturday night.

Stayed up a little too late and was super hungry but fought the urge to run over to the mexican joint and ate some pecans.

T-26

Really late night last night, but really fun. I obviously didn't eat the bread but egg and steak was... edible.

I usually get food for the plane but knew I was going to be passed out. So I was starving when I finally arrived back home. Dinner was from 90 Mile. Steak sauteed onions and a couple of plantains.

I knew I wasn't going to be full so additionally ordered a sandwich and pulled out all the "ropa vieja"

T-27

Definitely drank a little too much and up a little too late but was hilarious to watch JoeW do impersonations of a bunch of the staff. A very meaty breakfast. Over looking the boats at Coronado on the San Diego side.
Lunch. Mixed beans, steak, and fish.
Having fun doing a bunch of coaching development strategies drills. Definitely plan on stealing a bunch of them to do at CFC. Nice spread of snacks to eat between sessions.
I try not to be super obvious trying to take pics of my meals. The staff went out to Basic Pizza downtown and it was hard. Really rough to watch and smell that pizza. This dark mess is a salad with chicken and some pear slices. Probably would have been pretty decent if I wasn't so angry.
Finished the night with plenty of drinks probably 3-4 tequilas and had one Jack and Coke double couldn't refuse as it was bought by some awesome Aussie Friends.

T-28

Breakfast in San Diego. It's funny I wonder how many Americano's with heavy whipping cream were served.
Simple but good breakfast. Good warm up for the CFHQ Trainer's Summit

Lunch! Spinach, brussel sprouts, chicken, steak, and fish.

Post lunch snack of pecans.

CFHQ took us out to Coronado to run the O-course on the SEAL base. Good times.

Warming up dinner with a Patron on the rocks.
This wasn't really in the plan but got added. Had one two many. I love that CFHQ takes care of the staff. Out of all the appetizers I got to eat some fish, the ribs, and I had one coconut shrimp. Off limits was the sushi and the potstickers.
Almost forgot to take a pic of my salad. Wedge with bacon on top. Had to ask for dressing on the side and pushed the blue cheese aside.
The main course. Steak and fish. I was starving wasn't going to eat the potatoes but I was starving.
Desserts! I got to eat the berries on the bottom right. That sucks! The people at the table got to enjoy the rest. The left looked awesome. Like an apple pie ala mode.
Probably about 4 glasses throughout the dinner/night.

T-29

I usually don't eat breakfast but I try to during challenges.

Had to do a rush packing job but my wonderful wife ran to a local joint to grab me some food. Gyros salad in the car sitting with Jackson on the way to Midway. I really wanted the pita!

Prepping for a long flight. Need my Americano sucks that they didn't have heavy whipping cream but whatever.

Half way through the flight, hit up the salad I got from Potbelly's. It was worth the pain in the ass of lugging it around. Had some apple juice with it.

Finally arrived met my roommate for a couple of days, Zac Pine. Cool dude. Went down to the bar for a steak salad. Had to ask for no cheese and I didn't eat the fried onions on top.

Why CrossFit Sucks

No need to reintroduce myself and apologize for not posting for the ten-thousandth time.

I recently attended the Midwest Performance Enhancement Seminar at IFAST. When I attend these strength and conditioning events I expect and never am let down without hearing "Why CrossFit sucks" from presenters that have no clue what we do and base it off what they have seen on "youtube". I know what is currently flawed with CF (the majority) in my eyes and maybe I'll post about that in the future but not what this one is for.

There was a presenter, Joel Jamieson, that was giving a presentation on "Managing the Training Process". He gave a great presentation overall. When he was talking about the training process he pulled up a slide and just said "this is why CrossFit sucks". It was a rare occasion where I was presented with information that I couldn't contest because I didn't understand it.

I had no clue how to respond let alone what the hell mTOR, APK, AMPK was. So, I sat quietly, took notes, then went home to research. After researching still couldn't understand it much. I reached out to Robb Wolf who graciously emailed me and gave me the basic gist of it. I'm not going to go into the specifics of our conversation but it led me "down the rabbit hole".

Glenn was able to dig some stuff up for me as he has a bit more access as a CSCS to research. So thankful.

This picture below has reshaped much of the way I look at training for GAMES ATHLETES. I had to caps that as I feel it is important to differentiate the difference between CrossFit, the Sport of CrossFit, and CrossFit Games athletes.

Have fun digesting this one! Yes, I spend time reading and researching this stuff...and enjoy it.
